SFC Terms and Conditions

We provide an easy solution for getting your instrument to market utilizing our website and shop facilities, third-party websites, strategic marketing tools, social media networks, and customer mailshots.

Appraisal and Preparation

Appraisal: Foulds Guitars will appraise the item to gauge its potential market value based on its condition, integrity, and originality.

Repairs: If the guitar requires any work to be made fit for sale, this will be carried out with the Seller's consent. Any costs incurred will be added to the final settlement fee or payable upon collection if the guitar remains unsold.

Sale Period

Minimum Period: The Seller agrees to a minimum sale period of 180 days (we aim to sell the items as quickly as possible; however, market forces do change, and sometimes items can take a while to move on).

Pricing: We have agreed on a minimum price you will accept for the sale of the items, i.e., your reserve. Should we receive an offer that is less than the minimum (once our commission is paid), we will contact you accordingly.

Retention: The instrument will be retained by the Agent during this time and made available for sale, try-out, etc.

Revocation: If the Seller revokes the consignment agreement during the sale period, a release fee of £50.00 + VAT (per item) is payable to cover administrative, photographic, and advertising costs.

After 180 Days: No release charge is payable after the agreed 180-day sale period has ended.

Fees and Title

Commission: A 20% margin of the net price achieved after the deduction of VAT is required by the Agent.

Additional Costs:

Any cost of service or repair required to make the sale will be deducted from the net price (including but not exclusively strings, setup charges).

Any additional shipping costs that go beyond our normal services will be recovered from the net price (e.g., international shipping/insurance).

Title: The Seller retains title of the goods at all times until sold.

Safekeeping: Foulds Guitars LTD takes full responsibility for the safekeeping and insuring of the item(s) during the sale period and are covered by our standard shipping terms and conditions.

Proof of Ownership: Foulds Guitars LTD requires photographic ID and address verification as proof of the owner's right to sell the item(s).

Payment

Settlement: Once the item has sold, the net purchase amount payable is made directly to the Seller, usually within 14 days of customer receipt.

Website Sales: If the item has sold via the website, this period is extended to comply with distance selling regulations and the possible return of the item
