Hailing from the late 1970s, the Fender Musicmaster bass shares the same outline as the Mustang but with stripped back, simpler hardware.

Lightweight physically, this bass has a surprisingly deep tone from its single pickup, helped perhaps by its current set of flatwound strings.

The neck is larger than some but still very comfortable under the left hand while the 30" scale length makes fast runs a breeze.
