Bourgeois Down East Series AT Sitka/Walnut Slope D
Founded in the heart of Lewiston, Maine, USA, Bourgeois Guitars continues a tradition of craftsmanship and innovation spanning more than five decades. Led by master luthier Dana Bourgeois, the Bourgeois workshops blend time-honoured techniques with modern precision to create instruments of exceptional tone and beauty. Each hand-voiced guitar reflects a deep respect for tradition and designed to inspire players today, and generations to come.
The Downeast Launch Edition AT Sitka/Walnut Slope D is one of four inaugural models crafted to celebrate the introduction of the new Downeast Series—a new chapter in the Bourgeois mission to bring our signature hand-voiced tone and boutique craftsmanship to more players than ever before.
A favorite among singer-songwriters and roots musicians, the short-scale, slope-shouldered dreadnought offers a warm, relaxed feel with a rich, expressive voice equally suited for performance, recording, and songwriting. Paired with walnut back and sides, the Slope D takes on a unique tonal character, blending the familiar warmth of mahogany with added clarity, articulation, and a blossoming midrange response.
A torrefied Aged Tone Sitka spruce top delivers the openness and responsiveness of a well-played vintage guitar from the very first note, while Bourgeois’ renowned voicing process ensures exceptional balance, resonance, and musicality.
Designed by Dana Bourgeois and built with tonewoods hand-selected by Dana and Master Luthier James Witkus, all Launch Edition guitars were closely supervised by Dana during the voicing process to ensure the highest standard of quality and tonal response. The result is a refined yet approachable boutique instrument that captures the spirit and accessibility that defines the Downeast Series.
