Hand built in Derby by the very man who designs them, JSA Effects are boutique built with high quality (often very rare) components and a super-nerd level of attention to detail.
A few words from the builder:
"The "Smooth Fuzz" is a germanium based fuzz, built around three soviet transistors (two for the fuzz, one for an output boost so that there is always plenty of volume) and some soviet PIO caps. In addition to the fuzz and level controls are a tone control and a bias control (closer to the gate control on the f*zz f*ct*ry) that will go from very clean to velcro-y to silence. It also has a pickup simulator at the front of the circuit so that it can go anywhere in the signal path."
