The electro-acoustic version of Martin's D-18, this DC-18E has a few differences to the D-18 Elvis played...

For a start, there is the cutaway. Easy to see and easy to reach the upper frets! Harder to see are the controls for the electronics. Hidden away in the soundhole are three dials which control the onboard Fishman Aura VT Enhance preamp.

The body features forward-shifted and scalloped X-bracing found on prewar D-18s and the  neck has a modified low-oval shape with Martin’s “high performance taper.”

The sound is as loud as you would expect but with plenty of top end and is suitable for all styles but it really likes country music!
